Carys

    Lola developed plaque psoriasis when she was 14. She has only recently noticed that psoriasis can have a big emotional impact on her. Lola would prefer to not rely on medications, like steroid creams, and she has recently started yoga to help with stress.

    Ella has had psoriasis since she was 3. Although Ella is more confident now that her psoriasis is well-controlled with creams, she highlights that it can be another layer of worry for body confidence for young women in particular.

    Lisa was officially diagnosed at age 11. She has used steroid creams and phototherapy (light therapy) when she was younger. After the age of 18, she was allowed by her doctors to try cyclosporine, Fumaderm and methotrexate.

    Hannah was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 16. She found it difficult to accept having a life-long condition and finds that it requires her to think much more about her health than her peers do. Hannah's current psoriasis treatment is biological injections.

    Abbie was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 10. She recently finished a course of phototherapy which she found very effective. Abbie tries to remember that other people often don't realise the negative impact that their comments about psoriasis can have.
