David - Interview 14

David underwent a partial penectomy with surgical reconstruction in 2008. A subsequent lump in his groin resulted in further surgery and radiotherapy. He has regular hospital check-ups and remains positive about his future.

    Jordan delayed going to see his GP after finding a swelling on the end of his penis. When cancer was eventually diagnosed he underwent a partial penectomy with reconstructive surgery. He is currently waiting for his first post-operative check-up.

    After being diagnosed with penile cancer in 2010, John underwent a partial penectomy with reconstruction and bilateral inguinal lymphadenectomy. He then had radiotherapy to remove any remaining cancerous cells. He now suffers from prostate cancer, which is being treated with hormone therapy.

    Jim was first tested for sexually transmitted infections when he found a penile lump. A subsequent biopsy confirmed a diagnosis of cancer in early 2010. He underwent a partial penectomy and has been reviewed every three to four months.

  • Frank - Interview 24

    Two years after undergoing a partial circumcision, Frank found a small lump under the remainder, this lump was then diagnosed as cancerous tissue. Frank was referred to a Regional Centre where he underwent a full circumcision and penile biopsy. He then required a bi-lateral inguinal lymphadenectomy.

  • Tim - Interview 23

    After noticing a penile lump Tim was diagnosed with penile cancer. He underwent a partial penectomy with partial inguinal lymphadenectomy. Back at work after three months he still has check-ups every three months.

    Suffering from haematuria (blood in the urine), in 2002 John was referred to hospital where a penile lump was detected which was diagnosed as cancerous. John underwent a total penectomy followed by a left groin lymphadenectomy. He currently undergoes six monthly check-ups.

    Interview 21 visited his GP complaining of an irritation on his penis in early 2011. After detecting a lump he underwent penile surgery with left inguinal lymphadenectomy. Check-ups have now revealed that he may need surgery to the lymph nodes in his right groin.

  • Benjamin - Interview 20

    Benjamin first visited his GP in 2011 thinking that he might need a circumcision. The GP referred him to a urologist who took a biopsy. The results revealed that he had cancer. He underwent a glansectomy followed by a lymphadenectomy and then a total penectomy.

  • Peter - Interview 19

    Peter visited his GP suffering with genital irritation. He was referred to a Specialist Penile Cancer Centre where he had a biopsy and was then diagnosed with cancer. The cancer was surgically removed. Peter had a further operation to remove lymph nodes in his groin.
