Rachel

Rachel was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa when she was 17. Through outpatient counselling, her mother's continued support and her own coping strategies she is now doing well. Rachel says her biggest battle now is with self confidence.

    Eva started calorie counting and dieting when she was 14. It quickly became obsessive and she was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. Although inpatient care saved her life, she found cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and change in her own attitude the key things towards recovery.

    Hannah Z was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa at 14. She got help from counselling and when she relapsed she knew how to help herself. An important part of her recovery has been campaigning and raising awareness of eating disorders.

    Harriet was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa at 15. After a couple of inpatient stays and outpatient service with adult mental health services, her weight stabilised and mindset started changing. She has now moved away from home to study at university.
