Ethnicity: Bangladeshi Background: Fahmida is 40 years old and is Bangladeshi. She lives with her husband and children and works as a teaching assistant. Brief Outline: Fahmida became very unwell with Covid so her husband rang the emergency services. When she arrived at hospital, she had a variety of tests that all came back normal. The doctors gave her a anti-vomiting tablet which helped keep her food down and gain strength to combat the illness.

Gender: Male Ethnicity: Ashkenazi Jewish Background: Rabbi Wollenberg is 46 years old and is Ashkenazi Jewish. He is a Rabbi and works with the Orthodox Jewish community. Rabbi Wollenberg caught Covid early in the pandemic. He never got a high temperature, but being breathless and having chest pain led him to attending Accident and Emergency services at hospital. Having Covid made him confront his own mortality, but he is glad to have made a recovery and resumed his work.

Ricky and Sally are a married couple who live with their four children (a 3 year old, 2 year old and 17 week old twins). Ricky and Sally's household became affected by Covid in 2021 when Sally tested positive. Despite, also feeling unwell Ricky continuously tested negative. However, Ricky now experiences a distortion to his taste and smell.

When he came out of the coma he was concerned about PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and depression. However, he has not experienced this. He thinks that this is because he talks openly and shares his experiences with others.

Lyn found the pandemic very difficult, as she was far from family and faced racial abuse. She thinks she contracted Covid at work even though she took extra precautions. Lyn's Covid was very severe, and she needed to be hospitalised. She now lives with long Covid.

Dawn was worried about catching Covid because she has diabetes which makes her higher risk. When her and her family did get Covid, she was surprised how different everyone's experience was.

Gender: Male Background: Paul is 44 years old and is White British. He is married, with two children, and works as a tour guide. Paul was not tested for Covid, but he thinks he had it in February 2020. His symptoms were a constant cough and a high temperature.

Emdad developed Covid while working as a key worker, and his household tested positive for coronavirus too. His wife, who lives with physical health problems, took longer than him to recover from the virus.
