Carolyn - Interview 02

Carolyn took part in screening for unrecognised heart valve disease in 2009. She was pleased to be told her results were negative, as she had expected.

    Cathy and Fraser took part in screening for heart valve disease in 2009. Cathy learnt she had mild aortic regurgitation; Fraser's results were normal. (Cathy is developing memory problems, so Fraser fills in some details of her experience).

    Elizabeth was invited to take part in research into screening for previously unrecognised heart valve disease. She was delighted that her results were normal.

    Peg and Roy both took part in screening for unrecognised heart valve disease in 2010. Roy's result was negative and Peg's was positive. Peg was told she would have a follow-up appointment but she hasn't yet heard when this will be.

    Peg and Roy are married and are both retired. Roy used to be a motor technician and Peg was a benefits manager. Ethnic background/nationality: White British.

    George took part in screening for unrecognised heart valve disease in January 2010. Screening showed that he had no heart valve problems.
