Norman - Interview 01

Norman took part in screening for unrecognised heart valve disease. He already knew he had some heart problems, and the screening confirmed he had a leaky valve. He was invited to attend a further appointment. We spoke to Norman twice, once after each appointment.

    Ursula took part in a screening programme for unrecognised heart valve disease in 2010. She was told she has a leaky valve, which left her feeling a bit anxious, and was invited to attend a second appointment. We spoke to Ursula after she attended each appointment.

    We spoke to Anthony and Pamela after they took part in screening for unrecognised heart valve disease. Both were told they had minor problems and were invited to attend another appointment. We spoke to Anthony again after this appointment. Sadly, Pamela died of another illness during this time.

    Rene was invited to attend screening for unrecognised heart valve disease in early 2011. She already knew that she had a heart valve problem and was unsurprised when a further problem was discovered. We spoke to her once after she had been to both the initial and follow-up appointments.
