Louie

    (Audio or text only clips) Jack developed guttate psoriasis at age 20. He looked up the diagnosis online which was confirmed by a GP. Jack has felt self-conscious about psoriasis, though less so now that he older and has been prescribed a tacrolimus cream which works for him.

  • Louis

    Louis had a psoriatic rash when he was 18 for about 2 months. The steroid creams and emollients helped soothe his skin, which was very itchy and sore. Everyday activities were affected and it was difficult not having any answers about what was happening.

    Simon has had psoriasis since age 17. Having a skin condition has negatively affected his mental health and employment in the past. Simon's confidence has grown recently and he encourages young people with psoriasis to worry less about what others think.

    Steven developed psoriasis at age 14. He has used medicated shampoos and shower gels, undergone light therapy and his current treatment is Dithrocream (dithranol). He tries to be positive in the way that he copes and says he is now more accepting of having psoriasis.

    (Text only clips) Adam has guttate psoriasis which initially developed on his scalp in primary school. He has tried different treatments but worries about exhausting options. Adam's confidence has been affected by having psoriasis, impacting on his social life and sexual-romantic relationships.

    Russell was diagnosed with psoriasis when he was 19. He developed blister-like psoriasis whilst on holiday in the summer of 2013. He manages his psoriasis largely through a combination of a steroid cream, moisturisers and some lifestyle/diet changes.
