Krysia Canvin

Was a Senior Researcher for the Health Experiences Research Group. Krysia is a law graduate who studied the experiences of pregnant women in prison for her PhD. Her main research interests are vulnerable and marginalised groups’ experiences of health, illness and public services. She conducted most of the interviews for this section.

Maria Salinas

Maria is a social anthropologist who has worked as a Senior Researcher at The Health Experiences Research Group since 2002. This is the fifth young people’s health research project that she has led for healthtalk.org. She obtained her D.Phil from the University of Oxford in 2000. Maria conducted some of the interviews and analysed the data and wrote all of the topic summaries.

Laurel Edmunds

Laurel has researched obesity in children and adolescents over 17 years. She has studied their dietary/physical activity behaviours and the psycho-social implications of overweight for both parents and children, particularly as part of interview based research. She conducted the interviews with parents.
