Georgina - Interview 06

Georgina's son first became unwell when he was 15. He suffered hallucinations and delusions, but now lives independently, and both he and the family have a range of support in place. Georgina is a published author and works as a consultant.

    Mary's son first became unwell in prison in 2004. He had an acute psychotic episode in 2007. Mary has struggled to get a diagnosis for her son and was shocked at the care he received in hospital. Her son is now stable and living independently.

  • Simon - Interview 15

    Simon heard voices when he was at university, and didn't know he was ill. Eventually he went to see a psychiatrist and went to hospital. He got a grant and did architecture. Now he is involved with the service user movement and does sculpture.

    Tim was first unwell when he was 19 and has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. He has been on Depixol injections for many years, and believes acceptance of his diagnosis, the love of his mother, and religion have all helped him lead a happier life.
