Gender: Male Background: Robert is 62 years old and is Black Caribbean. He is married, with children, and works as a community nurse. Robert thinks he caught Covid from visiting a patient at home who was later diagnosed with Covid. He remembers thinking that he was going to die from Covid.

Age at interview: 60s Gender: Female Ethnicity: Chinese Background: Cindy is Chinese and in her 60s. She is retired and lives with her daughter. Cindy is retired, a carer of adults, and a Christian. She lives with her daughter. She caught Covid while looking after her friend who also had Covid. She still feels some of the symptoms of Covid.

Gender: Female Ethnicity: African Caribbean Background: Emma is 69 years old and is African Caribbean. She is a retired librarian and lives with her daughter and niece. Emma felt like the pandemic was racialised and informed by racism. She spoke about the different Covid variants and how they were called the Chinese virus; and the Indian variant.;

Gender: Female Ethnicity: Indian Background: Surindar is 66 and Indian. She is married and has a son. She is now retired. Surindar thinks she had Covid twice, once at the start of the pandemic and again in 2021. The second time she had unusual hallucinations.

Gender: Male Ethnicity: White British Background: Gwilym is 63 and White British. He works as a GP. Brief Outline: Gwilym heard about Covid through his job as a GP in the NHS, but experienced it for himself in March 2020 after developing symptoms following a cruise. Gwilym feels that the pandemic is the biggest challenge of his career in the health service.

Gender: Female Ethnicity: White British Background: Sue is 61 years old and is White British. She is a charity worker and trainer. Sue provided care for her parents who were unwell with Covid. When she caught Covid herself she was sick for about a week. She was advised to take paracetamol when she had Covid. However, she says that this did not improve her symptoms much.

Age at interview: 60s Gender: Female Ethnicity: Black Caribbean Background: June is in her 60s and is Black Caribbean. She works for the council as a registrar and is also doing a part-time Masters course. June ordered Covid tests online after feeling unwell in December 2020, which confirmed that she had been infected. As June's symptoms worsened, she called NHS 111 and her GP, who recommended calling an ambulance. A paramedic told her that she would be alright to recover at home. June experienced symptoms of long Covid which lasted for several months.
