Interview 91

Diagnosed with cervical cancer (Stage 1B squamous cell) in 1994. Radical Trachelectomy (first woman in UK to have a Radical Trachelectomy). 2 successful pregnancies after treatment.

    Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosed in 1991 after finding a swollen lymph gland. Given oral chemotherapy then radiotherapy. Recurrence in 1994 treated with chemotherapy (CHOP). Second recurrence in 2005 treated with radiotherapy.

    Tim was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996. He had a mastectomy, radiotherapy and tamoxifen for 7 years. The radiotherapy caused some burning of the skin and he developed a wound infection that cleared with antibiotics.

    A period of stress and tiredness led to a diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Treatment included chemotherapy, total body irradiation and autologous stem cell transplant. He is in remission.

    Ian became an occupational therapist after retiring from the police. He is married and has two children aged 16 & 14. Ethnic Background: White Welsh.

    Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosed in 1992 following a persistent sore throat that did not respond to antibiotics. Initial chemotherapy treatment did not work but further chemotherapy put him into remission.

    Michael was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000. Had a mastectomy and 11-12 lymph nodes removed, followed by radiotherapy and tamoxifen. Found another lump in 2008 which was also breast cancer. Had a lumpectomy, followed again by radiotherapy and Arimadex
