Diagnosed with mesothelioma in August 2002, followed by chemotherapy between October 2002 and April 2003.

Diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer October 2000, followed by radiotherapy from outside the chest to the lung. In 2002 developed pain in the back, treated with radiotherapy.

Diagnosed with lung cancer in 1979, followed by right pneumonectomy (right lung removed).

Diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in October 2002, followed by chemotherapy, then radiotherapy to the lung, and radiotherapy to the head to prevent spread to the brain.

Diagnosed with lung cancer in 2002, treated with radiotherapy from outside the chest to the lung in 2002, and then cryosurgery between May 2002 and May 2003 (died July 2003).

Diagnosed with mesothelioma in April 2003, followed by left extra-pleural pneumonectomy (left lung removed, together with chest lining, diaphragm, and lining round the heart, and replaced with Gore-Tex).

Diagnosed with lung cancer in March 2003 (later confirmed as small cell), followed by chemotherapy May-August 2003, and is waiting to start radiotherapy.

Diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2003, and had diathermy resection to open an airway on 15th August. This operation was followed by radiotherapy.

In June 2003 lung cancer was suspected after a routine scan, but for various reasons he decided not to have any treatment. After the interview it turned out that he did not in fact have lung cancer, so this further justified his decision.
