Interview EP35

Diagnosed with epilepsy in 1954. Has tried several different drug treatments, and epilepsy is not completely controlled. Current medication' lamotrigine (Lamictal) and gabapentin (Neurontin).

    Diagnosed with epilepsy in 1985. Has tried several different drug treatments, and had 4 years free of seizures. Seizures restarted in 1996 and epilepsy is currently not completely controlled. Current medication' carbamazepine (Tegretol) daily and clobazam (Frisium) when needed.

    Diagnosed with epilepsy in 1995. Tried a number of different drug treatments, and on average has about one seizure per year. Current medication' lamotrigine (Lamictal).

    Diagnosed with epilepsy in 1984, although had the condition throughout childhood as well. Has been seizure free since 1986, though had a status epilepticus episode in 1999 when medication was missed. Current medication' carbamazepine retard (Tegretol Retard) and clobazam (Frisium).

    John's symptoms started in 1999. He now has difficulty getting dressed and he is slower with walking, but he is grateful that his symptoms have progressed slowly.

  • Humphrey - Interview 01

    Humphrey was able to continue working as a writer, broadcaster and musician after he was diagnosed. Although his Parkinson's was progressing fairly quickly he maintained a resolutely positive attitude, trying to solve each problem as it presented itself, such as voice recognition software when typing became difficult. He died unexpectedly of a heart attack in 2005.
