Al was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 17. He's been using recreational drugs for a while and is now trying to get clean. He has occasional seizures.

Martyn was diagnosed with epilepsy at 12 and he's had both tonic-clonic and absence seizures. He has not had a tonic-clonic seizure since he changed onto Keppra (levetiracetam) and Epilim (sodium valproate).

Clair was diagnosed with epilepsy at 19 and is now on lamotrigine. She's been seizure free for two years.

Dave was diagnosed with epilepsy at 12 and he has had both simple partial and tonic-clonic seizures. He also has left-sided hemiplegia. He is on lamotrigine 250mg twice daily, oxcarbazepine 900mg twice daily and phenytoin 100mg in the mornings and 200mg in the evenings.

Donna was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy when she was 3. She had very severe and frequent seizures for years. She had neurosurgery two years before the interview and has been seizure-free since.

Alistair has temporal lobe epilepsy and is on lamotrogine 200 mgs twice a day. He hasn't had a seizure for a year.

Archie has had auras since he was 5 but he was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 10. He is on Trileptal (oxcarbazepine) 700mg per day and has complex partial seizures about twice a year.

Rania has tonic-clonic epilepsy and Asperger's syndrome. She is on 600mg sodium valproate twice a day. She has seizures most nights and one every few weeks in the day time.

Carole has temporal lobe epilepsy and was diagnosed at 18, after four years of tests. She is on Keppra (levetiracetam) 4000 mg per day and the seizures are fairly controlled at the moment.

Finlay has tonic clonic epilepsy which was conclusively diagnosed at 16. He is on Tegretol Retard (carbamazepine) and Keppra (levetiracetam) and his last seizure was 1,5 years previous to the interview.
