Holly was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was 18 and has had both absence and tonic clonic seizures. She has had a seizure alert dog, Elvis, for 5 years and is hence pretty much seizure-free. She is on pregabalin and Keppra (levetiracetam).

Simon was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 17. He is currently on Epilim (sodium valproate) and has been seizure-free for 2 years.

Ben was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 14 and has both tonic clonic and absence seizures. He has tried lots of different tablets but his seizures are still uncontrolled. Currently he is on lamotrigine.

Darren was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy at 11. He had neurosurgery in 2004 but the seizures came back and are now uncontrolled. He is currently on pregabalin and considering a second operation.

Paddy was diagnosed with tonic clonic epilepsy at 18. He is now on Tegretol (carbamazepine) and his seizures are controlled.

Will was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 14. He is currently on Tegretol Retard (carbamazepine) and Keppra (levetiracetam) and has not had a seizure for four years.

Rosie's temporal lobe epilepsy was caused by a brain hemorrhage she had as a premature baby. This also caused her to have mild cerebral palsy. She has been seizure-free for 10 months.
