Frosty - Interview 13

Frosty found a lump on his penis. He sought help from his GP and received several referrals before being diagnosed with penile cancer in August 2007. He had surgery to remove the cancerous part of his penis and further surgery to remove lymph nodes from his groin.

    Paul waited almost 2 years before consulting his GP about a large penile growth. Referral to a urologist resulted in surgery to remove the growth. He subsequently developed diabetes and his mobility is restricted. He is now clear of cancer.

  • Colin and Patsy - Interview 11

    Colin underwent a partial penectomy with surgical reconstruction in 2010. The return of the cancer resulted in a total penectomy being carried out. He is currently waiting to have an inguinal lymphadenectomy and a scan to determine the extent of the disease.

    Michael found a small lump on his penis, after delaying action a friend encouraged Michael to seek help. Michael's GP referred him onto a local hospital. Tests revealed the lump was cancerous. Michael went on to have a total penectomy.

  • Tom ' Interview 09

    Tom had some inflammation under his foreskin. Tom went to his GP who prescribed him a variety of creams. Tom's condition got worse. Further tests revealed evidence of cancer. Tom went on to have a circumcision and the affected areas of his penis removed.

  • Simon - Interview 08

    Simon's foreskin had been tight for some time, he decided to bring this up when attending his GP for another ailment. After a period of monitoring, he was referred to a specialist who performed tests. The results revealed Simon had cancer. Simon went on to have a total penectomy.

    Les noticed a lump on his penis, it was itchy and sore. He went to his GP who told him the lump was a genital wart. His GP treated the lump as a wart to no avail. Later a biopsy revealed the lump was cancerous. Les had surgery to remove the affected area.

  • Ian - Interview 06

    Ian was finding it difficult to pee and his penis was sore. After he was given several ineffective topical creams by his GP, Ian had a biopsy taken and was later diagnosed with cancer. He had an operation to remove the affected area.

  • John - Interview 05

    When taking a bath John found a hard lump in his groin. A biopsy revealed the lump to be cancerous however, the specialists believed that this lump was not the primary source of the cancer. A partial circumcision revealed a patch of redness on the penis. John was given chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

  • Big D - Interview 04

    After finding a lump which had emerged on the side of his penis, Big D sought advice from his GP who referred him onto a specialist. He was diagnosed with penile cancer in 2009, and was given a partial penectomy in the same year.
