Audrey - Interview 12

Audrey was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2005. She had a Whipple's operation, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The cancer came back in 2008 and 2009 so Audrey has had more chemotherapy and hopes to stop treatment soon. She feels well.

  • Lesley - Interview 11

    Lesley was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2008. She had a Whipple's operation and then chemotherapy. In September 2009, a CT scan showed that it had spread to her liver. Lesley still leads an active life. She takes morphine for her pain.

  • Elaine - Interview 10

    Elaine was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1995. The surgeon removed most of her pancreas and her spleen. Elaine also had some radiotherapy. Since then she has been very well indeed and only takes Metformin for mild diabetes.

  • David - Interview 09

    David first had symptoms in December 2003. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004. He had a Whipple's operation, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In 2010 his cancer came back. Doctors told him that he has weeks or months to live.

  • Michael - Interview 05

    Michael was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer nearly three years before we spoke to him. His early symptoms were indigestion and pain. He had a Whipple's operation followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In March 2010 he had a recurrence and had Cyberknife treatment.

    Michael is a retired wine merchant. He is married with one adult child. Ethnic background: White, half Polish half British.

  • Helen - Interview 04

    Helen was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2007. She had a Whipple's operation and chemotherapy. In early 2009 a CT scan revealed secondary tumours in her liver. Helen is now having more chemotherapy. She feels well and is back at work.

    In February 2009 William had jaundice. In April a stent was inserted into his bile duct, and the doctor did a biopsy of his pancreas. Cancer was diagnosed. In June, he had a Whipple's operation. He is now having a six month course of chemotherapy.

    In 2007 Alison was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She had surgery followed by chemotherapy and then chemoradiotherapy. She is now feeling well and is positive about the future.
