Peter

Two years ago Peter developed breathlessness at night and fluid retention. A blood test revealed heart failure. He had previously had three heart attacks and been treated for atrial fibrillation. He attends nurse led heart clinics several times a year and also sees a cardiologist annually.

    (Audio or text only clips) Aadam was diagnosed with eczema as a baby. Aadam struggled with having and treating his eczema throughout much of his childhood. This inspired him to write a book called Itchy Witchy' to help other children and young people affected by eczema.

    Georgia first had eczema as a child. Her eczema then cleared for several years before returning again when she was 14. She has tried many different creams, including steroids, and she now does a lot of research to learn about managing and treating eczema.

    Molly has had eczema for as long as she can remember. She found it especially difficult to cope with at age 14/15 but now feels that eczema is part of her identity and that she is a more confident person than she might otherwise have been.

    (Text only clips) Naomi has had eczema all her life. As a child she was admitted to hospital for it once, but as she has gotten older she has learned to manage her eczema better. She recommends eating health and drinking lots of water as the best method for treating eczema.

    (Audio or text only clips) Hazel is 21 and has had eczema since she was 3 years old. Her skin scarred more easily and became very sensitive after she developed chickenpox at age 13. She has tried a number of prescribed and shop-bought products over the years of having eczema.

    Ele has had eczema all her life. Her doctors have prescribed her a number of topical treatments with little success. She now tends to use shop-bought creams and hopes to manage her eczema in the future through a healthier lifestyle.

    Laura was 7 months old when diagnosed with atopic eczema. There are many triggers for her eczema, allergies and asthma including some foods and lanolin/wool. The main part of her body that her eczema currently affects is her hands.
