Karin - Interview 28

Karin found out she was a BRCA1 mutation carrier four years ago. She has had a double mastectomy and her ovaries removed.

    Jill was diagnosed with glaucoma in her 60s and has since had her cataracts removed and trabeculectomies performed on both eyes. Four to five months after an Ahmed tube was inserted she experienced complications and had an emergency operation to remove the tube.

    JP was diagnosed with Crohn's disease aged 21. He had an ilium septum then experienced fifteen years of bowel discomfort before the medication Questran light relieved the symptoms. JP feels Crohn's is linked to anxiety.

    Deborah was diagnosed with a Factor XI Deficiency of less than 1%, aged 45. She has fresh frozen plasma before, during and after any surgery. Her younger son was also found to have a deficiency of less than 1%.
