Stephen had excruciating back pain which was dismissed as simply a back problem by his GP. Months later a hospital doctor arranged an x-ray and this and other tests resulted in diagnosis of prostate cancer metastasized to bones in November 2009. He has had radiotherapy and hormone treatment.

George was prompted by his GP to have a PSA test while at surgery for a cholesterol test. He was then referred to hospital for a biopsy the result of which led to a diagnosis of prostate cancer at end of 2007. He had a radical prostatectomy in April 2008.

In 2002 David was prompted by a poster to ask GP about test for prostate cancer. After a first and second high PSA score he was immediately prescribed hormones by GP. A later biopsy confirmed prostate cancer and he had radiotherapy treatment. David is currently again receiving hormone treatment.

A series of PSA tests in 2004 while John was working overseas prompted a biopsy which did not indicate prostate cancer. However a later biopsy (May 2006) did indicate cancer and John returned to the UK for treatment. He had a radical prostatectomy in September 2006.

Michael first asked his GP for a PSA test in April 2005 after learning that four friends had radical prostatectomies. His PSA readings increased over four years and a biopsy revealed prostate cancer in October 2009. He had brachytherapy in April 2010.

Following a series of PSA tests which showed increasing levels of PSA Bob was referred onto a specialist by his GP. A subsequent biopsy revealed prostate cancer and he had a radical prostatectomy in November 2009.
