Ann McPherson, co-founder of Healthtalkonline.org was awarded the Health Communicator of the Year award at The BMJ Group Awards 2011. The ceremony, held at the London Hilton, Park Lane on Wednesday 18th May brought together over 500 of some of the most influential figures in health care. The Health Communicator of the Year award is awarded to an individual who has shown excellence in promoting understanding of medicine and health through the media.

Ann’s award was held to be one of the highlights of the evening and recognised her influential work as a founder of Healthtalkonline (formerly DIPEx). The award was accepted on Ann’s behalf by her husband, Klim McPherson, and the actor Hugh Grant (watch the video of their acceptance speech). Ann sent this video message.
