Ruby - Interview 58

Ruby has to take steroids as part of the treatment for lupus. However, the steroids cause a thinning of the bones and the trial is to see which medicine is best that prevents this from happening. Ruby does not know which medicine she is taking.

    Fflur was diagnosed with overlap connective tissue disease with features of arthritis, scleroderma and dermatomyositis at the age of 11 years. She recently took part in a study to find the best way of taking blood samples.

    Toby was diagnosed with migraines at the age of 6 years. He recently took part in a randomised placebo controlled drug trial. Toby has completed the trial and found out that he was taking the placebo and not the drug.
