Shared decision making

In this section you can find out about the experience of shared decision-making, by listening to people share their personal stories on film. Our researchers looked at people’s experiences of 50 health conditions from across Healthtalk to see what they said about making treatment decisions with their doctors. Find out what people said about issues such as why people want to take part in decision-making, what information needs to be exchanged and the role of values and personal choices. We hope you find the information helpful and reassuring.
